One World Government?

Will there be a One World Government, as predicted by many paranoid prophets [aka conspiracy theorists] as myself?

Well the Eschatological Prophecies (fancy phrase for End-Time Prophecies) doesn’t say so exactly. The Book of Daniel, Chapter 2, says that the many kingdoms at the end of time will not “cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay” (verse 43). Similarly, Revelation talks of many kings, in other words many kingdoms (i.e. countries). The whole world will not change into one giant country ruled by a single individual (at least not initially). What Revelation does say is that “These [kings] have one mind...” (Reverlation 17:13). These kings have “one mind”, meaning they are one in purpose, they follow the same agenda.

One (physical) World Government, most unlikely. One World Order (i.e. many governments following the same agenda), quite possible.

I think there will eventually be some kind of world government, most likely with representatives from each country and one elected leader.

Well Biblical Prophecies actually does foretell something of the sort. This "elected leader" will be a spiritual & political leader. Many believe it will be the Pope. (Actually, the Pope is already exactly such a figure -- both a spiritual leader, as head of the Roman Catholic Church, and a political leader, as head of a country - the Vatican City.)But it will be a short-lived scenario and is not talked about favourably in the Book of Revelation.

But Biblical Prophecies aside, I'm more cynical about the inherent goodness of people; especially people-in-power. It just seem like there are too many wars, both at a local and international scale and just too many clashing paradigms. Some wars have been going on for centuries! For me to imagine these diverse peoples accepting one leader is difficult.

Was it not for the Prophecies foretelling such a scenario, I wouldn't be able to imagine it.

Unfortunately I don't buy into the idea that all the souls on earth are growing into spiritually more evolved beings. I think the world is experiencing spiritual entropy. But that's just my opinion.

I do believe however, contrary to popular belief, that the Postmodernism is a positive turn [spiritually], relative to the Modernism it preceded. But that's another topic.
